Property description

If you have lived in Lewes for any length of time and know the Wallands area, we are sure you will have spotted this house sitting in a beautifully elevated position and admired both its location and the Edwardian elegance of the architecture. A fabulous family home with fantastic views and in a central location within the popular historical county town of Lewes.

Notice the amount of space and light this property affords, with three reception rooms, there is plenty of space for all the family and for entertaining friends. You won't fail to miss the character still visible from the hung tiles on the front of the house, tall ceilings, fireplaces, picture rails, bay sash windows and exposed floorboards. With four double bedrooms, there should be no argument over who gets the best room and the garden is ideal for children to play or a haven for anyone who likes gardening. The view to the front across The Paddock towards Lewes castle is delightful and quite inspirational if you have an interest in art or photography.

Lewes itself provides an variety of High Street and independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. The mainline train station offers direct links to London and Brighton, which is handy of a commute to work is required. It wouldn't take too long to access many countryside walk on the South Downs or along the river Ouse from this location and there is a choice of local schools, both primary and secondary, all within walking distance.

What the Owner says:

Having enjoyed living in the property for over 40 years it was the location to the town centre that really attracted us to the house. We have enjoyed raising our family here and the garden was a source of great fun and exploration for our children.

We are thoroughly spoilt by the views across Lewes and are sure to miss this aspect of living here. With the children now grown up and moving on, it is time for us to downsize, but with a great community in the Wallands area we are sure the new owners will benefit from this warm and welcoming family home and create many more happy memories.
