The Property:
Originally built in 1834 by Commander William Henry Baptist Proby who was married to the daughter of the vicar of Southleigh (hence the stained glass windows) During the first world war, Ryalls Court was used as a Military Hospital before it became a residential school for girls. In 1941 it became a Children's home until its closure in 1990.
