It has a community run shop/post office, village hall, parish church and playground. Another track goes to the neighbouring hamlet of The Green with its excellent dining pub; The Fox and Hounds.
Milton is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with miles of varied walks close at hand amidst lovely undulating countryside. From its peaceful location lies within around half a mile, the A350 with its good road links to the main towns in the area including Shaftesbury, Salisbury, Bath, Blandford, Warminster, Wincanton and Yeovil as well as to the South Coast. The A303 gives access to London, the West Country and motorway network. There are mainline rail services from both Tisbury and Gillingham to London (Waterloo) and the nearest regional airports are at Bournemouth and Bristol.
