About the Area
Wells is the smallest city in England (population about 11,000) lying in beautiful countryside between the Somerset Levels and the Mendip Hills - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Wells medieval centre has local markets twice a week, good restaurants, a thriving high street and many important ancient buildings, including the Cathedral and moated Bishops Palace and gardens. There are four major supermarkets on the edge of the city. Other Notes
Hann Close is a very pleasant residential area on the southern outskirts of Wells, just off the Glastonbury road. It's a small cul de sac of individual houses. No. 5 has an outstanding position which is probably the best in the area. It stands at the end of a cul de sac with a south and westerly aspect and beautiful gardens. The house is a handsome building (the original show house of the development) with it's excellent well appointed accommodation. It has double glazing, gas central heating and has been considerably improved by the present owners in recent years. These works have included the installation of new windows and fitting a new fireplace with a gas \"wood burner\" stove in the sitting room, together with shelved side alcoves.
