Property description
This fine property will offer you peace and tranquillity with just the sound and sights of natural wildlife to keep you company, yet is still within touching distance of civilisation. The village itself is within an easy walk and will allow you to pop out for a pint of milk or the Sunday newspaper. The bus stops are also nearby so any teenage children you may have can still easily get to school or stay in touch with their friends.
The plot itself measures 0.956 of an acre and the house was built to face the sun all day and the patio area is perfectly positioned to enjoy those long summer days. In the grounds are lots of trees and shrubs perfect for little ones to play "hide and seek" whilst the adults can help stay fit on the tennis court which could also double up as a basketball court for any sporty people in the family.
The house itself has an impressive vestibule and a large lounge and dining room for grand dinner parties, both of which can be warmed on a cold winter's day by logs burning brightly in the fireplace. The kitchen has a country feel and there is a breakfast room for everyday dining as well as a huge utility room which will help with the laundry and storage.
Upstairs the landing is just as impressive and two of the bedrooms have joint access to a terrace which has views of the river in the distance. To the side of the house there is a garage and spare land which could offer potential to extend the house further but you should seek planning permission or consult an architect before taking this any further.
What the Owner says:
We first looked at this house from the rear entrance, which is just off of Telegraph Hill and thought "wow". We wanted privacy and seclusion but, as we had two
teenage children, the house still needed to be convenient, and this house offered us the best of both worlds. We liked the generous room sizes and that every room was flooded with natural light, yet it was the plot that really sold it to us. It's been wonderful living here and we have enjoyed seeing woodpeckers regularly in the garden. We have held many big family events here over the years and have always had plenty of room for everyone.
We will be sad to leave the house but our children have now fled the nest, so it is time for another family to call it their home.
