Property description

The Edwardian elegance of this property, in the lovely village of Eythorne, is apparent from the moment you step up to the front door. This delightful character property has been completely renovated over the past four years, including a new roof, bespoke kitchen, modern bathroom and complete rewiring. So it is immediately available for new owners to walk straight in to, install their furniture and enjoy living there.

There is a charming and restful lounge with a recently installed wood-burning stove surrounded by a brick fireplace and arched recesses adjacent to a study that would also make a delightful den or playroom for the family. The elegant dining room, with its attractive fireplace, creates a delightful ambience if you want to host dinner parties and Sunday lunches, while the modern kitchen will delight any cook with its range cooker and other integrated appliances. The four double bedrooms and modern bathroom make this an ideal home for a growing family or a couple looking for sufficient space to enable their children and grandchildren to visit on a regular basis.

Outside, the charming and easy-to-manage garden includes a utility room and storage sheds as well as a large terrace for those summer barbecues and al fresco entertaining as well as attractive shrubs, flower borders and a lawn where the children can play. There is a long drive where you can park up to three cars and solid wood electronic entrance gates that enclose the whole area. The house backs on to school grounds so cannot be built on and is adjacent to the Tilmanstone Bowls Club and playing fields where you can walk the dogs.

What the Owner says:

We moved here in 2011 and spent a great deal of time, money and effort in completely renovating the house and had hoped to remain here for many years to come. We love the house and the area and our children are very happy in their excellent schools but, because of work commitments, we need to move. We even had plans drawn up to extend the property at the back to create a very large kitchen/breakfast/family room and enlarge the double bedroom above to make a luxurious master bedroom with en suite facilities.
These plans are available for a new owner if required. Eythorne is a true Kentish village and, with its churches, post office and general store, it has everything you need on a day-to-day basis. There is also a hairdresser and a balloon shop as well as a village pub that is only a short walk from the house. The village is a very friendly community and there are plenty of activities taking place in the village hall, including a free pre-school playgroup. BT infinity high-speed broadband has also recently become available in the village.
Something different is the East Kent Heritage Railway that operates vintage trains on the old colliery railway between Sheperdswell and Eythorne, if you want to plan an interesting outing with the children. The village sits in a lovely part of the Kent countryside and you can enjoy wonderful walks around the fields and in the nearby Waldershare Park – it is real doggy heaven.
