Property description
As you drive across Chestfield Green past the impressive old oak tree, the attractive this property is laid out before you. This charming and unusual property nestles in 0.76-acre gardens and woodland that backs on to farmland, providing a delightfully tranquil and rural ambience, yet it is only a short walk to Chestfield Barn and the Chestfield Golf Club and not far from local amenities.
Walking in through the atrium reception hall you can immediately feel the space and light that permeates throughout the house. Once you see the elegant lounge, with its marble fireplace and double doors opening into the large conservatory, you can see what a wonderful entertainment space it provides. You can look out from the conservatory to the impressive garden and woods beyond or sit on the large patio, having a drink and enjoying the view. For more formal occasions there is an attractive dining room but, for everyday use, the well-fitted kitchen/breakfast room, that also opens up to the sheltered barbecue area, is ideal for all the family.
If you are working from home the office has a lovely view across the front garden and Chestfield Green, while the two double-bedrooms and a large modern family bathroom on the ground floor mean you do not need to go upstairs. However, on the first floor there are two double bedrooms and a shower room, one of the rooms has a balcony overlooking the garden and the rooms are accessed via an unusual space-saver staircase.
The woodland area is a haven for wildlife and for kids, while you can enjoy watching the fish in the pond whilst sitting in the attractive summerhouse.
What the Owner says:
We have always loved this house and garden since we first saw it twelve years ago. However, circumstances are such that we now need to move. It will be very sad to say goodbye to this delightful property but we hope to pass it on to another family who will be able to enjoy it as much as we have.
It is wonderful how all the rooms flow through to each other and it has been a great place for parties and dinners as well as barbecues in the garden. We spend a great deal of our time outside and love the peace and tranquillity of the place, listening to the birds. Chestfield is a very friendly village and nearby Swalecliffe includes a variety of local shops such as a convenience store, hairdressers, pharmacy and dentist. We are only two miles from the impressive Tankerton Slopes, the seafront and excellent restaurants including ‘JoJos’ tapas bar and the East Coast dining room. The centre of Whitstable is only three miles away where you can enjoy its famous oysters, fishing harbour, individual shops and restaurants whilst, for anyone who needs to commute to town, there is the main-line station to St. Pancras and other London stations.
