Property description
It could be the location that first attracts you to this home. Set at the foot of the Downs the idyllic spot has stunning views across open fields. Neighbours are few and far between with villages nearby, in particular, Wye, which has schools, a train station, doctors and a High Street with other amenities. Junction 10 of the M20 is only a short distance away.
It could be the size of the home which appeals. There is a large driveway with a double garage which has a games room. A family looking for the option of an annexe could see the potential of this space. Inside the main home the rooms are spacious with high ceilings and large, full length windows which allow the sunlight in. The entrance hall, dining room and lounge are particularly grand. The country style kitchen and conservatory benefit from views of the rear garden and fields.
The other feature of this wonderful home is its character. As its name suggests, it was once a Pump House built over 100 years ago in the Victorian age. The architecture of the time was thoughtful and elegant and much of this remains. Both inside and out elements of its former life are visible. Four separate staircases provide access to the first floor and are separated by iron rods, a must see! Whatever of these aspects appeals this really is a wonderful home and a fairly unique opportunity for any home owner.
What the Owner says:
We previously lived on a development in Ashford but never really settled, as it always felt a little hemmed in and claustrophobic. We found out that the sale of this house had fallen through but thought that it would be out of our price range. We were encouraged to view and as soon as we did we fell in love with it. The openness of the location and the views of the countryside were stunning.
The house was okay but a little dated so we've made a few changes including updating the drainage system and of course decorating throughout. It's fair to say that we have mixed emotions about moving as we love it here so much but we just hope that whoever moves in enjoys it as much as us.
