Property description

With the attractive Victorian brickwork, charming sash windows and quaint side porch, this home is every bit your ‘chocolate box cottage’. Positioned in the highly sought after Forest Road, the new owners can enjoy the best of both worlds in terms of the location. This home offers a quiet getaway and yet is still within a short walk of the High Road, with its array of boutiques, restaurants and shops as well as the station, which can allow you to be in Central London within approximately 40 minutes.

Stepping inside, the porch is not only attractive but is highly practical. It provides a great space to leave damp coats and wet shoes and leaves the lounge as a separate space to cosy up in next to the feature fireplace. With a cottage you usually expect smaller rooms, but the spacious dining area will leave you speechless and provides the perfect space to entertain. Two windows provide a stylish feature as one overlooks the rear garden, allowing the light to flood in, and the second window looks into the kitchen area, preventing the chef of the house missing out on the conversation.

Wandering upstairs, and following suit with the rest of the house, the staggered landing oozes character and the stunning sky lights in the master bedroom are the icing on the cake. They were originally put in by one of the previous owners who was an artist and wanted the light to stream in while he painted.

What the Owner says:

We originally lived in Walthamstow but we often used to come here and go for walks in Epping Forest. This is when we fell in love with Loughton and from the moment we stepped inside this house the character and charm of this house won us over.

As well as the central location, we also feel a great selling point is the rear access, as it means we have avoided having to bring our bikes or garden furniture through the house.

We also love how the sun is in the garden from mid morning , which not only allows us to enjoy the morning sun, but also gives us the perfect warm garden space in the evening to enjoy a glass of wine.
