Property description
Calling all commuters! Don't be late for your viewing of this fantastic period family home in the heart of this historic county town. You will immediately notice the excellent blend of character features mixed with contemporary fittings that this property boasts within the light and spacious rooms, all complemented by an attractive rear garden. The stunning kitchen/breakfast area opens into the dining area and creates the hub of the home, so the family can gather around over the evening meal to catch up on the day's events or it can be used more formally if you have guests over for dinner. Double doors lead from the kitchen into the rear garden so during the warmer months, you can extend the living space outside and enjoy a spot of alfresco dining. The solid shed cleverly converted into a laundry room, mere feet from the rear door, maximises internal space. All the bedrooms are doubles so there should be no arguments as to who gets the best room and if this wasn't enough, the location is incredibly convenient, being quite central and having easy access to all the High Street and independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants that Lewes has to offer. If a commute to work is required, the station is a minute's walk away and provides direct links to London & Brighton while remaining, as though by sleight of hand, out of earshot owing to the unique location. Lewes is set within the South Downs National Park and it wouldn't take you long to access the many walks across the hills into countryside or along the banks of the River Ouse.
What the Owner says:
Moving to Lewes from London seventeen years ago, this house felt like home straight away. We were welcomed by our friendly neighbours immediately and quickly settled into the Southover area.
The house made the best possible material to build on and improve with a classic Edwardian terraced style situated in a conservation area, so the street retains a timeless feel, but with opportunity to reshape it internally to fit our family.
We've thoroughly enjoyed living here and seeing our children attend good schools within walking distance;
growing up to feel part of the community has been a big part of that enjoyment. We're sure whoever is lucky enough to move in will feel the same.
