Property description

This beautiful house really is something to be admired if you are a fan of period features. Unlike many Victorian properties you may see today, this one has hardly been disturbed over the last hundred years. The current owner really was ahead of his time with his approach to living in a house of this age and made an effort to retain most of the original features. Amazing wooden sash windows fill the house with light, highlighting other gems such as the Victorian crafted woodwork and doors and floor boards.

With some imagination the upper floor would make the perfect home office or hobby room or of course a 3rd bedroom. Currently accessed from a charming winding staircase it makes a beautiful retreat away from the world as it stands.

The fireplaces are gorgeous and you will definitely want to make these the focus of the rooms. The dining area opens up from the large living room which created a remarkable family living space. Whilst the kitchen and bathroom will undoubtedly require some updating, there is plenty to inspire you with the restoration. The garden is ready for the green fingered to get stuck in to.

The location will suit those looking for a stroll into the bustling City centre. St Dunstan’s has a 'market street feel' of its own too - with local shops, pubs and restaurants all found just outside the Westgate Towers. Commuters will also love the proximity to Canterbury West Station, an approximately five minute walk away.

What the Owner says:

Our family have had many happy years in this house but the time has come for a new family to take it on now. I have loved a lot of the original features here and really hope that someone loves these as much as I have. Being in the conservation area has been a blessing too, helping to retain the charm and character of this and the surrounding properties.

St Dunstan’s is a lovely area, there is now so much here to enjoy and it is all literally on the doorstep. A short walk around the corner to the green grocers or one of the pubs is something I have enjoyed over nearly 30 years we have been here.
