Property description
This timeless family home has not been on the market for over 37 years and you can see just why the current owners have been reluctant to sell. Don't be deceived by the view from the outside as it definitely feels bigger on the inside.
The property is located in the village of Upper Yalding which is in the borough of Maidstone, Kent. The village is situated 6 miles South West of Maidstone at a point where the rivers Teise and Beult join the river Medway.
The village school is St Peters and St Pauls Church of England primary school which is highly regarded. Yalding railway station lies on the Medway Valley line which links Strood, Maidstone West, Yalding, Paddock Wood and Tonbridge with good connections to London. Trains run every hour from unmanned Yalding Station where there is a small free car park, and more often from Paddock Wood which is just 49 minutes from Charing Cross.
This home is ready to be pulled back to life. The main structured and maintenance costs have been actioned with the lounge most recently being modernised. The current owners have now decided to allow the next custodians to put their own imagination and spin on what is a lovely family home.
What the Owner says:
We have been lucky enough to call this our home for over 37 years, I still remember the date of when we moved in, in fact it was the 24th October 1977!
What drew us in was the village itself with its lovely pubs, doctor's surgery, village shop, post office and library, and beyond that the beautiful garden and potential. The historic bridge, the school and the children's playground can all be reached from a footpath at the bottom of the garden. It's a large family home and at the time my wife and I were working in London so the commute was perfect. The village really does appeal after a long hard day in the city
We are aware it needs some love and updating but we hope you agree that not only is it attractive and unusual but it also has an awful lot of potential.
