It has a thriving town centre with many amenities, including a wide range of local and individual shops, a twice weekly market, banks, post office, two theatres, a number of music venues, a cinema, pubs and restaurants, a new local hospital, supermarkets, and a railway station with direct mainline services to London. There is a Leisure Centre with swimming pool and the usual facilities. There are a number of good schools nearby for all ages. Frome is located on the borders of Somerset and Wiltshire the surrounding countryside offers lots of lovely walks and opportunities for outdoor pursuits such as walking, horse riding and fishing.
