Property description
Cottages like this are rarely available and will appeal to anyone looking for an opportunity to create their dream home in an idyllic semi-rural location. There is fantastic potential to extend (subject to planning consent) or simply refurbish the house to bring it totally up-to-date.
The location is one of the main attractions. The house is set within a small cluster of similar cottages with views of paddocks to the front and within a pleasant stroll of the local shops and village amenities. It has direct rear access to a small country lane (a no-through road) which leads to the Downs Link so it is perfect for anyone who loves walking or cycling in the countryside, especially for those who need to walk their dogs.
There is a well maintained garden to the front together with a driveway and car port to keep your car sheltered from the worst of the winter weather. Behind the house is a good sized lawned garden with a few recently planted fruit trees and a couple of useful outhouses.
Bucks Green lies on the southern side of Rudgwick where there are local shops, a Post Office, medical centre and highly regarded primary and preparatory schools. A sports and social club can be found just a few minutes walk from the house, as can a charming country pub. A school bus passes the house taking older children to the renowned Weald School in Billingshurst so, all in all, the location could hardly be more convenient, especially as it is only about 8 miles from Horsham.
Please refer to the footnote regarding the services and appliances. What the Owner says:
My friend had lived here since 1968 when she moved in with her husband as newly-weds. She loved the quiet area and appreciated her friendly and helpful neighbours in the nearby cottages. She had been meaning to update the kitchen and had considered replacing the original Crittal windows but never quite got round to it!
In the last few years, she had a gardener in to re-plant the flower beds and generally maintain the gardens which look really pretty in the Spring and Summer.
I think the fact that she had lived here happily for the past 47 years says it all!
