Property description
Nine years ago the current owners decided to leave their two bedroom apartment in Belmont and upgrade to a larger freehold property to start a family. Having lived in Belmont for six years, they were keen to have a more semi-rural setting. Here, they can walk for miles through gorgeous green belt countryside and the nearby Banstead Woods; both Woodmansterne / Chipstead Valley Primary Schools are within walking distance and Woodmansterne Village caters for daily needs with shops, takeaways, a newsagent, hairdresser, beauty salon, post office and has a great pub. The village green is a great space and the annual May Queen Fete is a lovely tradition.
It was the cottage style look and the tree lined road that first caught their eye. The viewing went well and they could see the potential to re-model the accommodation to their needs.
Their home has undergone a lot of refurbishment. Two bedrooms have been re-plastered, a new driveway recently laid and the steps to the front door changed, double glazing replaced where needed and the bathroom suite renewed. In 2012 they opened up the original kitchen to the dining room and added a conservatory which created a large family friendly open plan living space. As a family with young children, they find the space is wonderful, because they can cook whilst helping the children do homework or colouring, or watch them play in the garden. But it’s also a great space to have friends over for drinks or dinner.
What the Owner says:
We absolutely love the area, the community spirit is really quite special. This is such a family friendly area.
We moved here as newlyweds and now with three young children we know so many people, in both Woodmansterne and Banstead Village.
Our children attend Jack and Jill’s Preschool in Banstead High Street and Banstead Infant School (Ofsted outstanding) both of which we cannot recommend highly enough.
We feel truly lucky to live in such a wonderful area. We have been very happy in this house and hope the next people to live here will be as happy as we have been.
