Property description
On the outskirts of Ashford in a popular road off Sandyhurst Lane in a small no through road. The small number of homes are mainly on one side of the road, which allows the properties uninterrupted views of open farmland. It's not just the views that are stunning, the house is full of charm and character and the extended ground and first floor offer plenty of space.
A mixture of old and new are stylishly combined to create a wonderful homely feel yet give a practical edge. In the hallway and landing, light streams in through stained glass windows whilst in the lounge, a big bay window is the provider of light and a viewing spot for the views. A 'Portland' stone style fireplace creates a focal point in the lounge and all this before you've even entered what is probably the most stunning room in the house. The kitchen takes full advantage of the open space at the back of the house. Moroccan tiles adorn the floor and solid oak work tops sit on top of the kitchen units. The central island 6' x 6' hosts the double Butler sink and two 1930s industrial lamps sit above it. Four metre aluminium bi-fold doors open out onto the garden and it's easy to imagine summer days with the doors wide open and the family enjoying both inside and out.
Back inside and upstairs, each room is equally as delightful as the ones downstairs. The family bathroom and en-suite are modern and stylish and the thermal bath in the main bathroom keeps the water warm whilst you take a long soak.
What the Owner says:
The house looked nothing like it does now when we first saw it. The house was sadly a mess and had been badly neglected. Despite its condition we loved the space and saw the potential. We have renovated many houses before so weren't put off.
Having lived in Ashford before I knew the area well and it was always a desirable place to be.
We've literally done everything since moving in 2 years ago. The extension had been done but we've reconfigured the downstairs. We've also added a Bespoke built gymnasium at the bottom of our private, landscaped garden, but this room could equally be used as a home office or hobby room.
