I knew from the start that I wanted to live in Smarden because of the village's great beauty and character, but finding the right size of property, with the budget I had, was difficult.
But then I discovered Beult Meadow for sale and snapped it up because I knew such properties seldom came to the market.
The wonderful views and its closeness to the heart of the village were the main selling points for me, as was the planning permission to extend the property to the side, which alas, I never got around to implementing. However, I am sure the opportunity and flexibility remains for someone else to pick up on that. I just hope that whoever buys the property will enjoy living in it as much as I have.
