Green Energy at Windrush x . A set of 16 photovoltaic cells were fitted onto the roof on 21/12/2011, in time for the top rate of feed in tariff (FIT). In the first full four years of FIT the panels have generated 13533Kws of electricity and have earned £6,592. The cells are owned outright by the owners of Windrush and can be fully transferred to the new owners at the same FIT on completion of the purchase of the property. The FIT Kw. Rate is index linked and at present is a total of £0.5056/Kw. When purchased the cells were said to be fully efficient for the next 25 years.   Also at the property their is a solar hot water system installed, the \"Solartwin\" system was installed in 2001. The heated water is pumped up into the tank when the solar panel on the heating panel is receiving sufficient sun light, thus no main electricity is required for its operation.
