Property description
Part of the original Abergaveny Estate, the main part of this labourers cottage is over 300 years old. The current owner sympathetically extended the property in 2002 working with the local builders Stevens Brothers.
To be in such a fabulous location with the St John’s Church and Primary School on your doorstep, whilst surrounded by the maturity of the edge of the Ashdown Forest.
On pulling up to the property you can see that there is plenty of room for a few cars to sit comfortably on the drive. This cottage is steeped with history and is built in solid stone with a beautiful inglenook fireplace to exude the heat throughout, during those winter months.
The summer months bring the garden to life with lots of areas to enjoy. There is a seating space that nudges the conservatory and whilst sitting there, the stream can be heard to trickle by. A brick barbecue is nearby for feeding the family whilst they are taken in by the scents and colours of the floral array.
The well-loved summer house has power to it and windows on two sides which frame the garden for any hobbyist to be at one with the natural surroundings or a great play den for children to accommodate all of their toys.
If you are looking for a unique property with a rural feel whilst being close to amenities then this could be a very pleasant view.
What the Owner says:
When we first saw this property 21 years ago it was a much smaller than it is now with a cellar. We fell in love with its character.
Over the years every part of the property and the plot has been extended and attended to thoughtfully.
It has been a wonderful part of my life and will always hold very fond memories but now feel that it is the right time to be moving.
