Property description
Set on the edge of Loughton, close to Epping Forest, sits this beautiful weather boarded detached home.
From the moment you step inside, the beautifully restored wooden flooring, which was salvaged from a chapel in Norfolk, it is clear that the phrase ‘run of the mill’ does not apply to this unique home. The property surprises you throughout, in both space and quality of finish, as you are lead from the kitchen and dining areas, with beautiful bi-fold doors, into the large master bedroom which sits in the original Grade II listed area of the home and boasts a fantastic feature fireplace.
The lounge area overlooks the main kitchen area towards the back and the wood burning stove is a prominent feature in the room and makes it the perfect area to curl up on the sofa with a good book. The three bedrooms can accommodate double beds and the master bedroom has plenty of space for fitted wardrobes to be created.
The bi-fold doors extending across the back of the kitchen and dining areas lead onto a fantastic decked area, which is perfect for entertaining in the summer months. As you step into the garden you are surrounded by the sounds of the birds and the breeze flowing through the many trees surrounding the home. The home is still close to the hustle and bustle of Loughton High Road through and the ‘Foresters Arms’ is only a stone’s throw from the house and serves as a fantastic place to meet family and friends.
What the Owner says:
When we bought this house 3 years ago it was in a terrible state, but we loved the location, the fact that it was nestled away in the forest and it had a great feel about it.
Since living here we have completely remodelled the house and, as well as restoring the listed part of the house, we also added a large ground floor extension to make a large kitchen/diner. We love entertaining and the open plan layout of the house has enabled us to do that with ease.
We feel the loft is a great selling point as it is a very usable space, it is a s big as the main bedroom, has natural light and oak flooring throughout.
