Property description
If you know Buriton you will probably know this charming cottage situated on a little country lane in the village, enjoying a relaxed countryside ambience.
The house is Grade II Listed and dates back to the mid 1600's, being of a timber framed construction with latter extensions and conversions of the house sympathetically completed. Over the years the home has been presented as separate country cottages and now as a delightful country house set on lawned, tree lined grounds that are of a sunny aspect. The cottage retains a wealth of character features that we believe will delight you as they did the previous owners, and there are delightful nooks and crannies, which give the house a charm of its own, whilst needing some upgrading it doesn't detract from the overall appeal.
You are sure to love the inglenook style fire place in the dining room and if you like exposed beam work then you will not be disappointed with its vaulted beamed ceilings in the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms. The internal doors are mainly of timber plank construction which again all add to the charm of the cottage.
If you are looking for outbuildings then we have detached workshops/garages which could lend themselves for conversion to a studio or barn style garaging (subject to consents).
Please refer to the footnote regarding the services and appliances. What the Owner says:
My parents bought the home in 1962 at auction as they were looking to move to a rural location and they couldn't believe their luck when they were the winning bid.
At the time of their purchase the house needed substantial refurbishment. The next few years were a real struggle with Dad being posted to the four corners of the earth. Eventually the extension works were completed and the cottage became a fantastic family home that my parents enjoyed for some fifty plus years, and whilst we will be sad to see it leave our family it would be great to find a buyer who loved it as much as my parents did.
