Property description
It is hard to ignore the presence and character of this beautiful charming cottage. From its white exterior and black window shutters to the carriage driveway and decorative wrought iron work, this property looks stunning. Back in 1987 the current owners were living in Carshalton and decided it was time to move further out to a more semi-rural setting. It was the picturesque setting overlooking the green that they fell in love with - it just felt right with character features and a warm homely feel. Much has changed since then. The cottage was originally semi-detached but the opportunity arose to purchase the neighbouring cottage, giving them the chance to re-model the accommodation of their now detached family home. It now has a ground floor extension that provides a spacious and practical four piece family bathroom, a handy utility area and a rear hallway. Without a doubt the heart of the home is the glorious dining area, perfect for entertaining a large family at Christmas. When you want to relax the cosy lounge areabis the perfect place to unwind in front of your lovely cast iron fireplace after picking the perfect choice of music to listen to from the rather unique miniature library accessed from two attractive archways within the lounge area with wonderful book-casing built into the walls.
The village provides an abundance of amenities including a pharmacy, post office, bank, general store, hairdressers, takeaways and restaurants.
What the Owner says:
We have been extremely happy with our home from the day we moved in. Just when we thought we were about to outgrow the cottage we were able to buy next door.
Having 3 bedrooms and second cloakroom upstairs is very useful, and we do love our unusual Mediterranean style gardens.
Tadworth is a wonderful area with Tadworth primary school and the local doctors’ surgery within walking distance. The station is within three quarters of a mile so commuting to London, Victoria is easy. We often take the family for a stroll over the Heath. It only takes a minute to walk to the local pubs including The Blue Anchor, The Dukes Head and The Grumpy Mole which all serve great food.
