Aberlour itself has banks, a petrol station, garage, post office, veterinary practice and a small supermarket open until 10pm most evenings. Local activities such as fishing, walks and a Golf Club.

The road network links to all the major towns and villages. The nearest railway stations are Elgin, Keith and Aviemore. Air travel is served by Inverness (Dalcross Airport) and Aberdeen (Dyce Airport).
