Property description
This is a colt bungalow which means it’s a timber framed construction, the building firm originally started in Bethersden over a hundred years ago and is a part of the history in this area. The bungalow is made up of completely renewable materials which, in this day and age, makes it environmentally sound. The position could not be more suited for this type of home, situated in an elevated position surrounded by mature trees, plants and shrubs, with commanding views over the Kent countryside. It is set back from the road secluded by hedging and trees and is accessed via a drive leading to a parking area for multiple cars and a detached single garage. The bungalow appears more of a lodge with its timber cladding, but once inside you will see it’s so spacious with a wide entrance hall giving an immediate feeling of space. The lounge/dining room is a fantastic space with French doors and windows flooding the room with light and giving fantastic views over the garden. This is a great place for entertaining with plenty of space for a large dining room table and with the added benefit of a wood burning stove it's also a wonderful place to relax. The garden room is a very useful space and also has its own wood burning stove so it is a room you can use all year round. All three double bedrooms have spectacular views over the garden. Outside you have a mature garden with a green house, shed and veg plots perfect if you are in to the good life!
What the Owner says:
The location really works for us, you have Tenterden which is a 5 minute drive down the road and is the best keep secret of the Weald, with it's beautiful tree lined High Street, bespoke shops, restaurants and public houses.
We lived in London before we moved here, and wanted the country lifestyle, as soon as we saw this bungalow it ticked all our boxes, we just had to have it.
We have enjoyed the garden and have completely landscaped it, made borders, planted shrubs and plants making it what you see today, a labour of love. We still cannot wait to get home after a busy day; it really is a fantastic place to live.
