Property description
We are lucky enough to have this deceivingly large, detached, character chalet bungalow, which originated as just a ground floor property but over the years has been extended in more than one direction, outwards and up. It would be fair to say that from the front you would not expect the amount of floor space on offer.
Part of the downstairs has its own entrance and in the past was adapted and used by a relative as an annexe, with a bedroom, lounge, kitchenette and shower room. The facilities are still in place but the bedroom and lounge now blend into one but could be restored, with ease, if the necessity arose. The lounge has a door leading out to the rear garden with a patio immediately outside.
The conservatory and garden room are adjacent to one another and form an L- shape and lead onto a substantial garden which would appeal considerably to those that might be blessed with 'green fingers'. Lots of ground gives way to lots of ideas. Area for kids to let off steam, growing your own fruit and vegetables, making things in your own workshop and introducing a lot of colourful and varied plants and flowers. Certainly plenty of ground to exploit. The master bedroom is situated downstairs and bedrooms two and three are upstairs. Ample parking exists as well as a garage. Northwood Lane is probably no more than half a mile from Hayling bridge, so makes getting on and off the island that much easier.
What the Owner says:
We bought this house 43 years ago as we thought it would make a ideal family home with a rural aspect and with easy access to Havant, Portsmouth and surrounding areas. When we don't feel like getting the car out, then the regular bus service down the road has proved to be a god send, with buses to and from Havant, virtually every fifteen minutes.
The instant appeal was how quiet the road was and that it gave you feeling of being in the countryside. The back garden has a log cabin and greenhouse and a great play area for the children, at the time, and still allowing ample space to grow our own fruit and vegetables.
