Notes
Formerly the land surrounding the barns in the 11th century was probably owned by Sir Francis Drake and his grand parents from Elburton to West of Brixton covering some 230 acres.
In 1598 the farm was owned by the Sterte family which was passed on from generation to generation until 1966. It was then sold on to Nicholls and Co who traded as builders merchants from the current barns and stables surrounding the courtyard.

In 2006 the barns and stables were converted into living accommodation and were viewed as an example of how to construct in keeping with the original materials. The buildings were then put on the market in 2007. The current owner was one of the first to move in and purchase number 12.

Directions
From Elburton Village travelling down Springfield Road to meet the roundabout. Take the second exit off of the roundabout onto Sherford Road and then take the second right into Dawes Lane and the barns can be found on the right hand side.
