The sculptor Theresa Sassoon planted a tree on the green to commemorate the end of World War 1. There are three local public houses, The Wheelwright Arms, The Star and a lovely gastro pub The Poet at the Standing Cross. Matfield was awarded the title of 'Kent village of the year' in 2010. Matfield is located around 5 miles north east of Royal Tunbridge Wells and 2 miles south of Paddock Wood.

The moment we knew this house might be available we jumped at the chance to buy this beautiful cottage. The position and elevated views really put the icing on the cake and being so close to my Horses Stables, wll as you can imagine was just perfect. The large rear garden has so much potential and just being able to arrive home and park on your own drive was a god send.

The location although rural is close enough for schools, shops and with one of us working in the city the train station in Paddock Wood is great. The area is quiet, safe and has a lovely country feel. It is with a heavy heart that we are having to sell. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
