Property description
Built in 1800 in the heart of Long Buckby, this is a rather unique property. You'll notice from the pictures there are still plenty of character features, making for a unique place to call home. The accommodation is spread over three floors, giving you plenty of living space and this really is one to come and see!
Storage can sometimes be an issue in older properties, but don't worry - you'll also find there's a cellar accessible from the lounge giving you some added storage space.
The lounge has a nice cottage feel to it; with the addition of the log burner, it’s the perfect place for a cosy winter’s night in. The exposed beams and deep sill windows make it feel very homely. As you step up from the lounge into the dining room, there's space here for a table and chairs and the dining room opens out onto the courtyard garden.
The kitchen is modern, clean and tidy and overlooks the courtyard plus you'll find ample space for the cooker and other white goods.
The courtyard which faces southeast, has been paved and has plenty of mature plants and there's also access to the garage. There's more than enough space for a table and chairs making for a nice place to unwind once summer is upon us.
Making your way up to the first floor you'll notice some French doors on the landing, these let in plenty of light and whilst talking to the current owners, they mentioned they had considered adding a terrace at the rear.... how nice would that be?
The high ceilings here really add to the feeling of space. On the first floor you'll find the family bathroom and you'll have noticed from the pictures the roll top bath - it still has the benefit of a shower over it. It's all in-keeping with the style and age of the property and the second bedroom is a good size, overlooking Knutsford Lane.
Heading on up the stairs to the second floor you'll find bedroom one. Now this is a fantastic open space, full of light thanks to the windows at the front and rear aspects and there are some storage cupboards built in. You'll have noticed from the pictures the oriental-inspired screen and tucked behind here is an en-suite shower room. It’s a fantastic use of the space.
I rather like this house, can you tell?
I just need to let you know this property does currently have some tenants in - they'll be vacating at the end of May.
Long Buckby offers a wide range of amenities and services including; a doctor's surgery, dentist, a popular public library, a veterinary surgery and a post office plus there are three pubs in the village too!
Local shops include two grocery stores, butchers, several hairdressers, a newsagent, a chemist and a wide range of restaurants and takeaways. What is nice, is that all these amenities are a short walk from this property.
Both the primary and junior schools are within safe walking distance and for the older ones there are school buses running for Guilsborough School.
If you ever have to commute then that's really easy - all major road networks including the A5, M1 and M6 are close at hand... ... and Long Buckby boasts as one of the very few villages in the country with its own railway station, offering access to Birmingham New Street, London Euston and all the major towns in between.
One final mention would be that there are dozens of clubs in the village for all age groups so there's no excuse not to be active - if that's what you choose.
