Property description

As you open the gate and walk into the front garden your eyes gaze upon this delightful brick and flint Victorian cottage. Upon entering this charming property, via the original front door, the period features in the lounge provide a cosy room, perfect for curling up on the sofa in front of the roaring fire. The heart of the home lies in the extended part of the cottage. The beautiful American oak kitchen offers an ideal space to prepare the Sunday roast or to have a night of fun with friends. There is more than enough space for entertaining in the dining room, which again oozes character with the original flooring and a stunning focal log burner. There is a beautiful walled garden providing a private sun trap. The patio area provides a great spot for entertaining outside and there is also a large brick built storage shed. The garden is very well stocked with some of the prettiest Victorian plants and flowers you will find. The location of the cottage is great: Close to Morrisons and the centre of Horndean Village, with a choice of pubs and local shops. The A3M is a few minutes by car, giving access to London via the Hindhead tunnel. On your free days, jump on a bike, horseback or pull on the wellies to explore the miles of pretty bridle paths and cycle routes that crisscross the area and then perhaps stop at one of the local pubs en-route. Although the home doesn't have its own driveway ample parking can be found in the car park across the road along with space in the community centre and parking at the doctors surgery the weekends.

What the Owner says:

We came across this cottage by chance whilst out on a walk one afternoon. We saw the hand written 'for sale' sign in the hedge and before we even got through the front door, we knew it was going to be our next home. We loved the fact the cottage oozed character and hadn’t been ruined by taking the features out like so many other homes we had seen. Since being here we have had a lot of work done. Most recently we have had the kitchen replaced with American oak units and German work tops. This part of the cottage has also had a new flat roof put on too.
Time has now come where we are looking forward to our retirement and will be moving from the area. If we could pick our home up and take it with us we certainly would.
