Property description
Nestled on the High Street in a conservation area you stumble across the entrance to 3, The Maltings. This olde worlde cottage front belies the fact this charming home was built at the turn of this century and not the previous one, as it oozes character and charm. Once inside you are barely aware that you’ve just stepped from the high street, with it’s local and practical mix of shops and trades, as it’s so very quiet once that front door is shut!
A small but practical hallway leads you into the lounge area and yet again you feel instantly that you’re tucked into cosy cottage that could be in the middle of nowhere. With far more space than you’d imagine from the outside the lounge area encompasses a study/dining area too in the way it’s used by the current owner - which hints at the flexibility on offer. The kitchen is big enough to do something in and small enough to maintain easily, with rear access to the car port and additional parking space (it’s a freehold property although there is a small bi-annual fee for parking which is required by the management company for parking area maintained for The Maltings). The garden also has more storage space with a large well-lit shed, which could be used for workshop or home office rather than gardening tools if you wished!
Being in a conservation area means that the front of the properties are protected in terms of look and feel, however at the back there are no such restrictions.
What the Owner says:
I have loved living here! It’s really unusual to find a property that genuinely feels like an old cottage yet has the advantages of being more newly built, like my en-suite for example. It’s great to have the additional parking so close to the High Street, and I’ve always had plenty of room for visitors and guests.
Also, being on the High Street is just so convenient for everything, if I don’t want to I don't have to drive anyway, meaning this has been a home that you can really relax in and enjoy.
