Property description

This mews cottage forms part of a character conversion arranged around a cobbled courtyard, occupying a unique and idyllic setting within the stunning and historic grounds of the Copped Hall Estate.

The interior of the home features a kitchen/diner with a rustic theme and being arranged around a brick chimney breast and fireplace recess that is home to an Aga, providing a cosy welcome to the home, which is via a character stable door leading from the courtyard. There is an entrance door and hall, however the current owners use the stable door as the main access point to the home.

The sitting room again provides a cosy atmosphere, with its exposed floor boards and chimney breast, with open fireplace. Once can just imagine getting warm around the fire on a cold winters night.

The owners tell us, “You really get the best of both worlds here, a countrified lifestyle and the feeling of being tucked away from it all due to the open fields and far reaching views, yet you are only 3.2 miles from the bustling High Street of Epping, with a selection of shops, including a Tesco’s, Marks and Spencer’s food hall, numerous restaurants and coffee bars, a weekly market and the tube station which makes central London very accessible for commuting to work. For road user’s junction 26 of the M25 and junction 7 of the M11 are within 4 and 6 miles respectively, so getting around is not an issue. We enjoy an environment that as you make your way home from a busy day at work you just seem to leave the stress of the day behind you.”

The owners continue to tell us, “We have our own garden space which provides an area to sit and relax during the summer months, or eat al-fresco. You are also permitted to stroll around the grounds of Copped Hall, where you often see herds of deer strolling through the fields”.

If you are searching for a truly unique setting to live in, then a viewing of this home is essential.

What the Owner says:

Discovering this courtyard setting within the stunning grounds of the Copped Hall Estate certainly ticked all the boxes. We had been looking for a special setting, as we drove along the private drive through forestland eventually reaching Copped Hall it had that WOW factor that we had been searching for, we knew immediately that this was where we wanted to live.

The property that was to become our home was formerly a coach house and was virtually derelict, with boarded up windows and doors. We knew we were letting ourselves in for a tremendous amount of work, but this did not put us off as we were so impressed with the location.

The project was both hard work and time consuming but we enjoyed the process of rebuilding and refurbishing the property. We have enjoyed living here so much, we have never regretted taking it on.

Having the double garage is a real plus, it takes two cars and we also use it for storage and have the washing machine and tumble dryer in there together with the boiler and water softener, it also features a brick herringbone laid floor.
