LOCAL INFORMATION Sindlesham is an estate village in the civil parish of Winnersh, Borough of Wokingham, and county of Berkshire, in South East England. Located by the M4 motorway, it is south-east of Reading and adjoins Winnersh village. Some parts of Sindlesham on the north of the River Loddon, including Sindlesham Mill and Sindlesham Farmhouse, are now included in the town of Earley. A chapel is believed to have been built as early as 1220. A large 19th century, three-storey watermill on the River Loddon has more recently become a hotel. Nearby is the estate of Bearwood House, built in 1864 by John Walter, the then proprietor of The Times newspaper, now Bearwood College, a private secondary school. Also in the village are Bearwood Primary School, the offices of Winnersh Parish Council, the UK control centre for the National Grid and the Berkshire Masonic Centre at Sindlesham Court. Facilities in the village include two golf courses (Bearwood and Bearwood Lakes) and the Nirvana Spa health club.
