Property description

This attractive property dates back to 1870 and was converted from a Granary. Wonderful tall ceilings and exposed beams give a spacious feel that you would not necessarily expect from a 'cottage'. The accommodation is over 3 floors and often conversions can compromise on ceiling height or access to the third floor, however Grape Cottage has two stunning double bedrooms and two full height landings and staircases. Both bedrooms are over 16ft x 14ft. The lounge is also an excellently proportioned beautiful room with a solid oak floor and a multi fuel stove. There is a spacious rear hall with plenty of natural light and great storage with access to the secluded patio at the side of the house. The kitchen over looks the rear garden. On the first floor is bedroom 1 and the bathroom and on the second floor another vast bedroom and a handy mezzanine level.
The property has been lovingly maintained by the current owner who has enjoyed the property for 14 years. Recently decorated throughout and the garden landscaped.

The picturesque village of Freckenham is located 6 miles North from the horse racing 'capital' Newmarket. 11 miles from the Cathedral City of Ely and 16 miles North West of Bury St Edmunds. There is a Grade II listed church, a 16th Century pub and restaurant, an active village hall and a childrens recreational area.

OWNER OPINION
Some say a house chooses you. Almost 14 years ago, Grape Cottage chose me. As soon as I walked through the door, while it was being renovated, I knew it would be the perfect home. I love the end of the day to eat and drink alfresco with friends, surrounded by the colour of the flower tubs. I would love to pick up this cottage and move it elsewhere, so I want someone to love it as much as I do.
