Property description
It's rare that a property of such charm, distinction and detail should come onto the market. The current owners bought their home primarily for its original period features and the potential it afforded for complete restoration.
The traditional parterre front garden with cottage style planting and box hedging sets the scene. A period lantern illuminates the front porch, highlighting the bespoke leaded glass panels and fanlight in the original Victorian front door. From the moment you ring the bell-pull and are welcomed inside you will be entranced by the period features of this much loved home.
The attention to detail in the lounge is evident; both in the carefully restored original sash bay window and working open fireplace with marble surround and Victorian tiles. A leaded fanlight over the dining room door is a striking feature allowing light to flood in which reflects in the over-mantle mirror enhancing the functioning Art Nouvea fireplace.
A custom made door with leaded glass panels leads to the immaculate free-standing kitchen featuring full stave hardwood worktops. Welsh slate complements the Belfast sink and Delft tiles complete the traditional look which is matched beautifully with the heritage paint. The bathroom upstairs continues the period feel with brick pattern tiling and Heritage bathroom fittings. It's beautiful too so come and take a look!
What the Owner says:
We have spent much time, energy and money to bring our home to it's current specification, restoring and reinstating period features such as sash windows and fireplaces. We love our garden which is a sun-trap; designed to be a low maintenance space but also one which looks attractive in all seasons. We used sympathetic materials in the hard landscaping including natural limestone in both patios. The hand built shed has both power and light and could have a multitude of uses.
We are staying in Snodland as it's a great place to live having easy access to both countryside and motorways as well the convenience of the high speed train to London.
