Property description
With character and charm in abundance, this Victorian cottage will make you feel right at home in the West Sussex countryside. Set in the picturesque Danehill; enjoy village life and all that it has to offer with country walks past the church and the oast house.
Take a step inside and the quaintness will impress you immediately as you notice the central chimney with feature mantel piece in the sitting room. Imagine yourself on a starry winter's night, sat next to the roaring fire with a warm cup of coffee, letting the aroma fill the air as you sit and relax. Make your way through the adjoining door and step down into the Kitchen/breakfast area, With plenty of room for a good size table, it's the perfect setting to enjoy a traditional Sunday roast and with the newly added conservatory, enjoy your morning jam and toast. The views over the garden allow you to gaze out into the private untouched woodland. Keeping with the character of the cottage, a separate door off the kitchen guides you upstairs to the large landing area which is like a separate room in itself. Here you will find the family bathroom benefiting from the morning sun and two good size bedrooms, with bedroom one having a large loft hatch for storage. Built and lived in by a stone mason, working on the stone of the church, this is a rare opportunity to purchase such a unique property soaked in the history of Danehill.
What the Owner says:
I fell in love with the cottage from my first step inside; it was everything I had been looking for. It just oozes character in every room; from the fire place in the sitting room, to the original doors and latches with the only modernisations I've made are the addition of double glazing windows, the conservatory and solar panels on the back roof which heat the water.
The back garden is the perfect place for me to leave everything behind and indulge in my passion for poetry with the local wildlife being known to stop by and say hello. It's time for me to move on now but I will miss the village and what the locals call the six wonders of Danehill including the candelabra tree and the horse pond, see how many you can spot on your weekend strolls!
