We bought this property about nine years ago. It was an incredibly well-built house but the interior design lacked imagination. We felt that it was in one of the best locations in Whitstable. We love the town with its delightful restaurants, individual shops and fishing harbour and we can easily walk into the High Street along the seafront or along Island Wall. We spent the next year completely recreating it to become a special weekend retreat. Nothing was left to chance having installed new plumbing, new heating , new electrics and we gave a great deal of thought to every detail – from the restful colour scheme to the bespoke central stairwell light and the solid oak floor in the living area. We even have included comfort cooling.
However, once it was completed, our focus of attention altered and we have probably not spent more than a few weeks staying here, so it is virtually a brand new house that any owners could walk straight in to and not have to do anything except enjoy themselves. At the same time, as the property is in a separate enclave and there are very friendly neighbours who all look out for each other, it is safe enough to close up and not have to worry about security.
