Property description
Higham village is the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life and, although this pretty village offers you that rural feeling surrounded by rolling countryside, there is no need to feel isolated as everything is within easy reach. The local shops include a hairdressers, a library, a post office, a village pub, which is renowned for its friendly welcome and good food, and a beautiful village church that can be seen from the rear of the garden. If that is not enough action for you then just jump onto the train at Higham station and you can be in London in about an hour. Gravesend town centre is less than a fifteen minute drive away and you can be on the A2/M2 motorway network in less than five minutes giving you access to London and the coast .
The property itself is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac surrounded by similar bungalows with their own driveways and some, like this one, a garage to the side. When you enter you are greeted by a nice size porch for all those coats and muddy boots and you will notice that the current owners have very much looked after the property over the years. It is decorated throughout in neutral colours offering a blank canvas for you to personalise it to your own taste.
The pleasant surprise is the rear garden which has been beautifully landscaped and well maintained with a variety of colour and a large lawn. Beyond that is just a sea of blue sky as the garden backs onto farmland and open fields offering you that open aspect and privacy which, in our opinion, is priceless.
What the Owner says:
We have happily lived here for twenty seven years. We extended to the rear of the bungalow to create a dining area, with French doors leading out onto the garden, and added a handy utility room off of the kitchen. We laid a new driveway to the front and had the walls and loft insulated. Our pride and joy has to be the rear garden which has given us, and our grandchildren, lots of pleasure over the years.
The village has a great sense of community spirit and we will miss our neighbours dearly.
