Owners Comments
The Moment we saw Peaceful up for auction in 2012 we knew that it was the ONE, a nail biting auction later Peaceful was ours!Outside a beautiful honey coloured new thatch awaited us, and a project! Using Heritage builders and crafts people with agreement from the listings people we transformed Peaceful inside and out. We removed black paint from the beams, redecorated in ntraditional paint for the cobb, fitted a new kitchen and this year bathroom. Updated the heating system, replaced the hot water tank and installed new electrics and board. Outside we opened up the driveway for more vehicles and landscaped the grounds. Our heritage builder removed the concrete exterior, which can cause damp problems, and he re-rendered and painted with traditional materials exposing a stunning flint plinth. The height of which means that the original owner was very wealthy. We had planned to knock down the garage and build an oak framed structure to include a garage and annexe, and extend Peaceful at the rear of the property. We got as far as discussions with our architect and a \"happy nod\" from the listings people. However life does change and we have sadly found that our work has taken us back into a large town. So now Peaceful has become a very successful holiday let. This versatile property will provide a wealth of choices for the new owner, either a second holiday home with a great income or a beautiful family home. We will be sad to sell up and move on, but work commitments force this decision, we hope the new owners will enjoy the new Peaceful.
