Property description

Dione Mckenzie of Re/Max Alloa is delighted to offer onto the market this rare opportunity to own a listed property in the heart of Kincardine. This picturesque detached two storeyed house of late sixteenth century style with forestair is a delight. Above the first floor entrance the marriage lintel has initials and the date 1750 , but historic records show that it was formerly built in the 17th century for a ship's master. The small window in the gable wall was traditionally to allow a mast, sails and ships' gear to be hauled into the garret during the winter months when the boat was laid up. The house was then later converted into a roman catholic chapel. It was not until the early 1990s that it was turned back into a home. The cottage now offers a blend of old meeting new. It has the typical red pan tiled roof and crow stepped gables however inside, all has been renovated over 10 years.

The accommodation consists sitting room, dining kitchen, three bedrooms, bathroom, cloakroom and courtyard. EPC = D

Kincardine or Kincardine-on-Forth is a small town on the north shore of the Firth of Forth, in Fife, Scotland. The town was given the status of a burgh of barony in 1663. It was at one time a reasonably prosperous minor port. Modern Kincardine has an 18 hole golf course, a primary school, library and community centre with a collection of convenience stores. Kincardine provides easy access to Dunfermline, Falkirk and Stirling, with the benefit of the new bridge taking commuters onto the M876 and M9. The picturesque Royal Burgh of Culross on this northern shore of the Forth is just a few miles away and it, again, provides a primary school, convenience and tourist shops with eating places to choose from.
