Property description

This terrific two bedder has a real touch of class! Sprawling over the ground floor of a handsome Victorian classic it enjoys a healthy proportion, period features, high ceilings and a wonderfully secluded private rear garden. Stunning cornicing, dado rails, private rear garden and a sprinkling of period tiling make for an elegant environment. A large head height cellar will house any amount of wine or tools and the master bedroom has to be seen to be believed. Location wise you couldn't fairly ask for better; Bonham Road has a peaceful, residential vibe but it's within an easy walk of Brixton, Abbeville Village and Clapham. Your closest transport links include the Victoria Line at Brixton, the Northern Line at Clapham North and any amount of buses whizzing up and down Acre Lane.

Enter at ground floor level where a frosted arched light over the door supplies welcome light to the shared hall. Your inner door lies straight ahead. The inner hall enjoys Sisal flooring, dado rails and subtle grey walls. Walk forth through an open arch to the comfortable living area which boasts stripped original floorboards, cornicing, picture rails, ceiling rose and some dishy shelving. The working fireplace has a pretty wooden mantel and original tiled hearth - we love! Wide glass doors open rear to a brick bed patio and onto your leafy garden which is adorned with a myriad of healthy foliage. No over-lookers make sun-baking more comfortable and there's oodles of space for a swinging summer soiree.

Back inside you'll find the kitchen running off the reception through a wide arch. Dainty double doors open rear - it's the perfect spot for a compact dining table. The cabinets and counters run on two sides incorporating an integrated fridge/freezer, a four ring gas hob, oven and ceramic sink. A deep storage cupboard precedes your bathroom which has a wood panelled bath, white suite and a frosted sash. The single bedroom is a good size - even fitting a double bed if required. The master bedroom is positively cavernous and soaks in a flood of light through a wide bay. Ornate cornicing work and another ceiling rose complete the tour nicely.

The 137 is just around the corner and will whisk you to Sloane Square and Knightsbridge. Clapham North tube is about 12 minute walk for the Northern line or you've got the Victoria line in Brixton. You're within a pleasant amble of Abbeville Village for a slightly more laid back village vibe. Acre Lane has some handy shops and a fab Algerian restaurant, Khamsa - we recommend it highly! The Grand Union does ace cocktails and burgers (we've been known to frequent their super cool beet garden). Brixton's all a buzz of late - it's a proper social hub. The Ritzy cinema overlooks the recently re-developed Windrush Square offering a marvellous place to sit, chat and drink coffee. This is before we mention the ocean of funky bars, cafés and restaurants on offer - we love Fujiyama for some noodles and vino. Brixton's covered market supplies a seemingly endless list of world cuisine - you can dine on everything from Columbian to Vietnamese. Honest Burger is to die for - those rosemary chips are having a disastrous effect on the waistbands of Brixtonites! The White Horse really rocks out on the weekend and you've got a fab restaurant attached the Brockwell Lido. Keeping fit is no problem with Brockwell Park and Clapham Common. Sudbourne and Corpus Christi Primary Schools are a matter of seconds for a super easy morning commute. Both are highly considered  All in all a real winner!
