Property description
What a great setting for a retirement location, away from the hustle and bustle of town or city life, in exchange for the tranquillity of a much sought-after Kentish village in an area of outstanding natural beauty and ideally located for foot access to all of the local amenities. Walk around the corner to hop on the bus when visits to Canterbury city centre are the order of the day safe in the knowledge that the car is parked off-road in a bay to the front of your home.
The building itself has the external aesthetics of a house rather than that of flats and with its own private front door, rather than a communal access and hallway, it really is rather special. Situated on the corner of the building, it provides the most convenient access to the neat communal garden and its seating areas. This gives you the feeling of having your own garden without having to maintain it! You can relax and enjoy the view of the village church and experience village life. A pathway also leads round to the useful shed and to the raised bed at the rear of the flat.
Once inside, your private entrance hallway provides space and access to the bedroom, lounge and a large bathroom with window and additional separate shower. Easily convert the bathroom into a wet-room if required.
This is a gem of a location and retirement flat opportunity!
What the Owner says:
I have been very happy here for 6 years. The new doors and French windows plus the CCTV made me feel safe and cosy. I have loved sitting on my bench under the shade of the ancient tree and have really enjoyed meeting friends and having lunch in one of the two local pubs. What is marvellous is that people can be as independent as they like here, but can also rely on support if they need it as they get older or become ill.
Church Walk is managed by Sanctuary Housing Ltd. They are responsible for the employment of a manager (not living on site), together with the emergency call system, external repairs and maintenance of grounds, insurance of the building, cleaning and lighting of communal parts.
