Both villages have small beaches of sand and shingle, Whitsand Bay with a 4 mile stretch of sand is about a 10 minute drive, there is also a golf course at Whitsand Bay and National Trust house and gardens at Mount Edgecumbe. Plymouth is about 20 minutes by car via the Torpoint ferry or there is a foot ferry available that will take you to the Barbican in Plymouth.
