Property description

Why we like it:
This property is part of what was once the Wallingford Iron Foundry and is in a central yet tucked away location in a cul de sac within a short stroll of the town centre. The building has kept much of its original character including large cast iron picture windows and a bell that once sounded the start and finish of work. This particular duplex apartment has been modernised throughout and has a new high quality kitchen downstairs and a bespoke `C. P. Hart` bathroom upstairs. The light and airy living room with the two feature windows has a new wooden floor. The double bedroom is a good size and there is the additional benefit of a loft for storage. Allocated parking for one and an open plan front garden.

What it offers:
A light and airy open living room with two large cast iron feature windows from the old Iron Foundry building. A newly fitted white kitchen with a fitted fridge/freezer and oven. Stairs to small landing which has access to a loft for storage. A newly fitted quality bathroom. An airing cupboard with storage space. A double bedroom with a large velux window. Two modern slim-line thermostatic heaters in the living room and bedroom. Outside: a communal hallway area, a front garden that is open plan and an allocated parking space. The location is superb; in the centre of town for an easy stroll to all the amenities. There is no onward chain.

The Location:
Originally a walled Saxon town on the Thames the remains of Wallingford`s town walls can still be seen today. The remains of the Castle can also be seen from the Castle Gardens. Wallingford is a thriving market town. The centre is a major conservation area with fine examples of churches and architecture dating back to the 14th century. The landscape from the River Thames is officially designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The streets with their variety of small shops, pubs and restaurants, the antique shops in the Lamb Arcade, and the parks, commons and gardens make it a very pleasant town. There is a Waitrose Supermarket and firm talk of a Morrisons supermarket coming in the future. The Country Market is held every Friday in the Regal Centre and the farmers Market is held every third Tuesday in the Market Place. The Corn Exchange is the home of Wallingford`s cinema and theatre, producing a wide variety of productions throughout the year. There are two nurseries, three primary schools and a highly regarded High School which is also a sports academy. Wallingford is within easy reach of both the M40 and the M4 and only 15 miles from Oxford. The town has a full range of leisure facilities and sports groups.
