Property description
This perfectly placed one bedder promises a fine spot to call home. Split over the lower and ground floors of a handsome period property the flat enjoys an impressive amount of storage and a shared decked rear garden. Subject to planning one could dig out the lower ground floor to create more living space or even another bedroom! You're within a stroll of Poets Corner and the very lovely Brockwell Park with its lido and rolling green open spaces. Transport is taken care of with nearby Brixton and Herne Hill stations.
Enter through a shared garden and door where you'll find the flat's inner door on the left. The reception dips front through a bay of sash windows. Twin low level storage units flank the chimney breast. There's picture rails and some lovely oak flooring too. The carpeted bedroom is next on our tour with a rear aspect and some dishy wall paper to liven things up. From the landing you descend to a lower landing which has slate tiling and dado rails. The bathroom has a wet-room style shower, heated towel rail and a modern white suite. The modern kitchen enjoys a bright dual aspect, thick solid oak counters, contemporary cabinets and space for the fridge/freezer and washing machine. Subject to the neccesary permission you could open up the space through double doors to the rear lower courtyard. Storage wise you're really spoilt with a utility/storage room which in turn offers garden access. A further deep storage space sits next door. The garden is also split level and supplies a lovely decked patio which is shared with the neighbours above.
Where do we start gushing about the area? The much loved and coveted Poets Corner sits on the leafy fringes of Brockwell Park. Transport is taken care of with nearby Brixton Station (Victoria line and BR zone 2) - an easy 10 minute walk. Herne Hill station is a mere 5 minutes stroll in the opposite direction for more swift connections to Farringdon, Victoria and beyond. The ever growing list of eateries and cafés in Brixton Village are getting the attention of many - we love Franco Manca pizza. There are just too many bars to mention but if we had to pick some favourites: The Prince Regent, The Florence and The Commercial. Herne Hill has a Pizza Express, Tapas, Antiques and the Lido is a real treat! If you're brave you can take a dip and finish off with a well-deserved latte by the pool. The park is perfect for jogging, cycling and the Sunday papers.
