Local area

Bembridge recently won the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Village of the Year Award and is a stunning yet quiet coastal village found at the most Easterly point of the Isle of Wight. This traditional location is a fantastic place to choose for retirement living offering tranquillity and breath taking scenery. Sailing is exceptionally popular from the local Bembridge Harbour and the three beaches (Lane End, the Ledge and Bembridge Beach) offer plenty of activities for locals and visitors to enjoy.

For lovers of history and culture, Bembridge Windmill can be found on the outskirts of the city and is perhaps one of the village’s most recognisable features. A number of military features can be explored in nearby Culver Downs – including a fort owned by the National Trust and an anti-aircraft battery which dates to wwii.

There are also plenty of natural attractions to be found at Culver. You can see the white cliffs of this famous point from Sandown Bay to Shanklin and there’s a fascinating mixture of wildlife with the stunning Whitecliff Bay which is particularly worth of a visit.

As well as a striking location for beauty and history, Bembridge is also well connected for transport. The village has its own airport while local bus routes connect the village with key locations such as Ryde and Newport.
