Wookey, a pleasant village lying 2 miles or so west of Wells, was probably a Saxon settlement and in the 13th century was the site for the palace of the Bishop of Wells.
The village has a church, an excellent primary school, pubs (in walking distance) and various village societies. North Road is a very well regarded quiet residential area with practically no through traffic.
