Property description

You could not ask for a more picturesque property! Located in the heart of the conservation area lies this charming Victorian cottage. With the area known as ‘Little Cornwall’ due to the quaint cottages, country style lanes and peaceful setting you could mistake yourself and think you are miles away from anywhere. But in reality you are a few minutes’ walk from the buzz of Loughton High Street and Loughton Station, which allows you to be in the centre of London within 40 minutes.

Although the property needs work and modernisation, such features as the fireplaces, and visible Jarrah hard wood beams the owner fashioned from an old railway sleeper from the original track of the London Steam Underground Railway and two double bedrooms are all foundations to help create a charming one of a kind home. Also, unlike a lot of Victorian Cottages, the family bathroom is upstairs, which is more practical for the morning rush for work.

The courtyard garden to the rear allows you to truly take in the peaceful surroundings and is a lovely secluded area to enjoy a coffee on a sunny Sunday morning or an ideal space to enjoy a barbecue.

This house is oozing potential and being just a stone’s throw away from the forest for leisurely walks as well as falling within Staples Road School catchment this home really is a hidden gem!

What the Owner says:

I have lived here for 40 years and I have never tired of the peaceful location and charm that this cottage has.

In recent years I have opened up the lounge and dining room to create a more open plan feel and designed a feature brick fireplace to help maintain the charm and character in accordance with the rest of the house.

I have been very happy here, but I have now bought an apartment in Whitstable to be closer to my friends.
