Property description

This first floor apartment is in a uniquely elevated position with superlative views across Bath. Full of character and charm, the property has a very spacious living room with a beautiful bow window to the front from where you will enjoy the sweeping views of Bath. The apartment also has a modern kitchen, two bedrooms including a generous sized master and a bathroom. There is also a lovely communal garden with manicured lawns and the apartment has excellent storage. A stunning property that is well located and highly recommended.

History:
A parcel of land known as East Hayes, in the parish of Walcot, was purchased in 1767 by a partnership of builder and architect Thomas Jelly, mason Henry Fisher and John Perry distiller. John Perry was listed in the Parish Poor Rates in 1775 as the owner of a 'summerhouse' on this land, so the house was probably commissioned by him although it was not actually finished until about 1781. At this time the description summerhouse was dropped.

Thomas Jelly and John Palmer were responsible for many of the famous buildings in Bath, and since their partnership in 1765, it is highly likely that they collaborated on this design, highlighting this property as having significant architectural heritage.

Situation:
The apartment is located between Camden and the ever popular Larkhall with all the amenities that it has to offer. These include a delicatessen, a French cafe, butchers, hairdressers and supermarket along with a small local theatre and public house. Bath city centre is only 15 minutes walk away providing many excellent restaurants, wine bars and a comprehensive range of shopping outlets including some unique independents. In addition there are a fine selection of museums and art galleries along with The Theatre Royal and the popular Thermae Spa. The city also offers excellent sports venues at Bath Rugby Club and Bath Cricket Club along with world class facilities at Bath University. There is a mainline railway station with direct access to London Paddington (90 minutes), Bristol and the south west. There is also easy access to the M4 motorway - junction 18 is approximately 9 miles to the north.
