Barn 1
With planning consent for residential use.Barn 1 is on the eastern side of the old yard and is perpendicular to the road. There is a gate immediately alongside the barn which does go out into the lane, although the mainly used access is the field gate aline to the eastern corner of the field. This barn is the building with benefit of planning consent. Although the loft floor has been removed in the past there is sufficient headroom for a two storey building. The Barn measures 42'0 x 19'0 (12.8m x 5.79m). Within the ground floor there remains the stone wall which originally separated the ground floor into two areas and which supported the centre of the original loft floor. To the yard side of the barn there are four personnel doors and a window opening on the upper level. To the rear of the barn, against the field, there are two window openings and on the roadside elevation a further opening. The roof is currently in profile sheeting. Linked by its inner corner to the second barn, Barn 1 fronts onto the original yard, with Barn 2 running at right angles from the inner corner of Barn 1 and flanking the inside of that yard. It is the outer side of the yard that there is a gate onto the road.
Barn2
Parallel with the road and flanking the yard which lies between the road and the building, this Barn measures 36'0 x 15'0 (10.97m x 4.57m). The building has an external single storey Lean-to 15'0 x 8'0 (4.57m x 2.44m), this Lean-to does not have any roof. The roof of the main barn is of corrugated sheeting and is in need of some attention. Barn 2 is divided into three areas suitable for stabling or loose boxes for other stock.
The Yard
The old yard borders the boundary to the road and includes along its curtilage two small block built stores approximately 8'6 x 8'6 (2.59m x 2.59m) respectively and has a 2.8m Lean-to on the east side. In the south west corner of the old yard the remains of a previous stone building comprises part of a stone built gable wall, creating a corner with part of a second stone wall against the road. The gable wall includes evidence of an old chimney flue.
