SITUATION    The property is situated in grounds of approximately 1.57 acres on Bedwells Heath, a private lane within this favoured and prestigious residential area of Boars Hill. Oxford is approximately four miles with all its excellent shopping, cultural life and facilities together with an excellent range of state and independent schools. The nearby arterial route of the A34 gives access to the M40 and M4. Didcot mainline station provides a fast train service to London Paddington in approximately forty five minutes.

HISTORY OF EIDSVOLL    Eidsvoll has a fascinating history. It was built between 1927 and 1928 by a firm of Coventry builders for Hans Landstad, a Norwegian engineer who went on to become the chief designer and 'deputy' to William Morris himself. Landstad had gone to North America in early 1914 in order to buy parts and it is thought that when he came back to the England later that year, he brought with him the idea of a 'production line', having seen it in operation with Henry Ford's Model T. William Morris (later Lord Nuffield) had progressed from making bicycles to cars in about 1912 and Hans Landstad eventually went on to design the engine gearboxes and chassis for him.
